We had 7 boats on the water this week, plus we were joined by Peter McQuoid who has been sailing a DF65 at a Queensland club, but has now moved to Albany, so will be a new member to the fleet, Welcome Peter.

We were dished up a variable southerly at 2- 5kts with significant shifting from the SE to the SW.

Today we had 10 yachts on the water and started with a steady Westerly wind which changed to a very light SW wind.

We had 11 yachts on the water for race 6 of the series with a good NW wind.

We started with a smaller fleet of 6 boats this week, in a light N/NE breeze that swung at times from NW to SE and varied between 0 to 8 km/h, so there was a lot of tacking on shifts and waiting in one position for some sort of wind.

10 boats competed today in a S/SW breeze that saw the change of sails being used from B to A+ and all rigs had their moment on the water.

The breeze started in the ENE at 5-10 kts with some significant swings making for plenty of opportunities.

Half way into the morning the wind moved to the East and was still swinging. It was a different easterly having considerable variability. 

A big fleet of 10 boats started today with Geoff O #421 joining after heat 3.

We had 11 yachts on the pond which was a good turn out with a rainy start and a gusty NW wind.

Sunday DF95 State Championship was contested by 31 entrants, three fleets and over 8 races from the 24 heats.

Winds for first heats started from north of west swinging around 10 degrees edging towards west by mid- morning making choice getting out to the right side for the first windward leg important.

Racing was greeted with a gusty westerly at 5-15kts and shifting to give plenty of opportunity to make gains, the opposite was also the case.

The rain stayed away resulting in pleasant racing conditions.
