The marginal breeze attracted a mix of A and B rigs among the fleet of 9.
The fleet initially raced 4 scratch races and then 5 handicap races.
A big thanks to Murray H who acted as PRO and handicapper after the first race. The floating handicap allowed for continuous adjustment to even the fleet out. Murray took the helm of #43 for the last 3 races while Brian E took over the PRO role. Thanks Brian.
The scores have been collated for accumulated points across both scratch and handicap. Peter B (and Murray H) took out the series. Geoff O had to drop the first 2 races that he was DNS for but did well to hang onto 2nd place from Grant who sailed the A rig very well in the conditions. Cassie was only a point behind to take out the last podium placing. The stand out improver was Kriss who sailed really well with his B rig. Brian H was a bit wayward with and impressive 2nd placing in his first scratch race bit found it hard to find the groove again to finish mid fleet. Les was consistent and was in very good positions at times but dropped places quickly when mistakes came into play. As the mishaps become less the results will definitely improve. Brian R struggled to find the same groove with the 65 that he has with the 95 so clearly just a rig tuning issue. Small changes can make big gains….or losses!
