Brian R takes out win.
Three sailors turned up for the start of Sunday morning handicap racing.
The wind was steady from the SW with gust up to around 8 -10 knots and all starting with the A rig the sails. There were some dark clouds were coming in from the southwest and with forecast of rain and possible thunderstorm it was looking like an early finish for the day.
After two races a very black cloud came over Mt Clarence with significant increase of wind causing nose dives down the runs and making bottom gate exits difficult.
After two more races and another big dark cloud coming all agreed that we would call it a day before getting cold and wet.
At the end it was Brian E and Brian R both on same points and inseparable on countback with a couple wins each then Murray D.
Also coming to the lake earlier to try out his newly constructed IOM for the first time was Marcus Vernon. After some initial set up struggles he had it on the water for a test sail but it became apparent there was some more set up work and tweaking to be done before racing. We look forward to seeing Marcus back again next week to join in with the club IOM activities.
Greg Westerberg should also be back from his recent Pacific cruise and we look forward to see him back at the lake as well.
Once again thanks to Geoff C for coming down to undertake RO duties for the morning once again.
Next Sunday 29th October is Championship Heat 2 starting at 9.30am.
